Briefelo is operated by Matthew Barsing, trading as Briefelo. We are the data controller for personal data processed through Briefelo, which means we decide how and why it is used. Contact: mlbarsing@gmail.com.

Data we collect and why

  • Account data (name, email, login details, Google sign-in profile): to create and secure your account. Basis: contract.
  • Meeting content (audio you upload or record, transcripts, documents, templates): to provide transcription and document generation. Audio is processed and not stored; saved documents stay private to your account. Basis: contract.
  • Subscription status (plan, renewal dates): to give you the right features. Basis: contract.
  • Technical data (IP address, device and browser info, error logs): for security, fraud prevention and fixing problems. Basis: legitimate interests.
  • Support messages: to answer your questions. Basis: legitimate interests.

Card and payment details are collected directly by Paddle, not by us.

Who we share data with

  • Service providers that host the app, store data, send emails and run AI transcription and text generation, only to provide the service;
  • Paddle, our Merchant of Record, for selling the product, subscription management, payments, tax compliance and invoicing;
  • Professional advisers such as legal and accounting;
  • Authorities where required by law.

We do not sell your personal data. Some providers may process data outside your country; we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

Retention

Account data and saved documents are kept while your account is active. You can delete documents anytime. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it, except where the law requires us to keep it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or export your data, object to processing, and withdraw consent. Email mlbarsing@gmail.com and we will respond within one month. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, access controls and per-account data isolation.

Cookies

We use only essential browser storage to keep you signed in and remember preferences such as house style. We do not use advertising cookies. You can clear this storage in your browser settings, though you will be signed out.

Changes

We may update this notice and will post the new date above.
